VTC History
Our companies have worked with VTC for 27 years. They always follow through, and do not shy away from extra research or chasing down the details to help us make better decisions.”
Rich Booms – President
Booms Stone Company
In the years since 1957, when Valenti Trobec Chandler Inc. was founded, a lot has changed. The evolving economic landscape. Shifting regulatory and compliance forces. The sheer velocity of business. And while the tools and technologies of risk management adapt to meet these challenges, one thing doesn’t change: our simple, person-to-person commitment to customer success.

That was a company mandate from day one, when a small but ambitious group of insurance professionals joined forces to create a different kind of customer service experience. And, as evidenced by our continual growth, financial stability, and high standing with both customers and carriers, that mandate has proved its merit:

Work hard on behalf of our customers.
Anticipate their needs.
Keep our promises.

Part of the VTC Insurance Group since 2006, Griffin, Smalley & Wilkerson has been a stalwart of the insurance and surety bond community in Michigan for decades. With strong expertise in core VTC industries, our Farmington Hills team also brings unrivaled experience to customers in professional services, personnel and staffing, and information technology.

Terry Griffin and Lee Smalley formed Griffin Smalley Inc. in 1979 and grew the firm rapidly into a successful independent agency specializing in insurance solutions for the construction, food processing and distribution, and metal working industries. The firm’s later acquisition of the Wilkerson agency cemented GSW’s presence and expertise in these industry specialties, and the company grew to develop strong Personal Lines and Employee Benefits divisions.
